Coroner identifies man found dead after blizzard

EL PASO COUNTY – The El Paso County Coroner has identified 68-year-old Harry Brantley as the man who died during last week’s blizzard.

Deputies were called out to a home on Antioch Rd, just southwest of Yoder, last Thursday as a woman sought medical help.

According to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, Brantley went outside to start s generator in an outbuilding during the blizzard but never returned.

Brantley was found dead outside. The woman who called for help was treated for hypothermia suffered when she went outside to search for Brantley.

The coroner has yet to make a ruling on the cause of death. Brantley is the only storm-related death reported so far in El Paso County.
