Where To Find These Limited-edition Moonberry Twinkies

Posted
and last updated

The 50th anniversary of the moon landing may have come and gone in July, but that’s not stopping Twinkies from coming out with a brand-new dessert that is out of this world!

The new Moonberry Twinkies feature a sponge cake that’s dark blue like the night sky and a fruity “moonberry” cream filling.

The Twinkies have landed exclusively at Walmart for a limited time. You can get a pack of 10 for $2.97, but they won’t be around forever, so make sure you get one before they disappear.

I haven’t had a chance to taste-test these, so I can’t report on what a “moonberry” tastes like. The color is more like a blueberry than any other berry, but that doesn’t mean it actually tastes like one. Perhaps it tastes like a berry smoothie or a mixture of blueberry, blackberry and raspberry!

Either way, it sounds like perfect excuse to continue celebrating the moon landing!

As mentioned, this year marked the 50th anniversary of the 1969 moon landing, and there was no shortage of new treats to celebrate the history-making moment. From new doughnuts at Krispy Kreme and Dunkin’, to new Oreos and beer, July was full of space-themed treats!

Unfortunately, not all of the treats are still available, but some are.

Oreo

It looks like you can still get Oreo’s Marshmallow Moon cookies for now and Krispy Kreme’s cream-filled doughnuts are a permanent addition (and they now have new ones filled with peanut butter, too!). Budweiser’s Discovery Reserve, a limited-edition beer, is also still available.

Dunkin’s Cosmic Coolatta drinks and star doughnuts, however, are not on their online menu, so be sure to ask if they’re still available at your local Dunkin’.

Of course, if you’re not up for any space-related treats, you can still get regular Twinkies and even Twinkies ice cream cones and Twinkies-flavored coffee.
