Today’s Forecast:
Wind and fire danger are the two biggest stories in the forecast today. The wind speeds will blow between 15 to 30 mph with occasional gusts up near 40 mph in the afternoon, mainly along and north of the Palmer Divide. Fire danger remains high across the region, especially in and around Fremont County and the San Luis Valley. Overnight the winds will die back and the lows will fall into the 30s and lower 40s.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 71; Low: 39. Windy today especially on the east side of town and out through El Paso County with increased clouds in the afternoon and evening.

PUEBLO: High: 79; Low: 42. Sunny skies with a few clouds in the afternoon and warm daytime temps with increasing winds in the afternoon.

CANON CITY: High: 78; Low: 46. High fire danger with Red Flag Warnings expiring in the evening and strong, gusty winds across the region through the day.

WOODLAND PARK: High: 64; Low: 33. Cool daytime temperatures with strong, gusty winds in the afternoon and early evening.

TRI-LAKES: High: 60s; Low: 30s. Mild daytime temperatures with very strong and gusty winds through the afternoon and early evening.

PLAINS: High: 70s; Low: 40s. Windy at times today, especially in the afternoon and early evening, with warm and sunny daytime conditions.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 70s; Low: 40s. Windy at times today, mainly in the afternoon and early evening, with a small chance for an isolated t-shower at the end of the day or early this evening.

Extended Outlook:
Most of this week looks windy to breezy and cool. The winds will be lighter tomorrow but still breezy and we'll be a few degrees cooler. Thursday will be the warmest day of the week with highs back in the upper 70s and mid 80s. The weekend looks cooler with highs falling back to the 60s with a small rain chance on Sunday.
