Today’s Forecast:
The two main impacts in the weather department today are the wind and the cold. We still have a High Wind Warning in effect for all of the eastern plains today through 5 pm. We could see widespread wind gusts ranging from 20 to 50 mph, but the strongest winds will likely stay in Lincoln, Kiowa, Cheyenne, and Kit Carson Counties.
The cold will be around all day with wind chills tonight down in the single digits and negatives.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 31; Low: 12. Cold and windy with wind gusts up to 50 mph possible, especially in eastern El Paso County. Overnight wind chills will get down into the negatives and single digits.
PUEBLO: High: 37; Low: 7. Cold and windy all day with wind gusts up to 50 mph possible, mainly in east and northeast Pueblo county. Overnight wind chills will get down into the low single digits.
CANON CITY: High: 34; Low: 16. Cold and windy today with wind gusts in the 30 to 40 mph range. Overnight wind chills will get down into the low single digits.
WOODLAND PARK: High: 20; Low: 5. Very cold today and still windy with gusts in the 30 mph range. Overnight wind chills will sink well into the negatives.
TRI-LAKES: High: 20s; Low: <10. Super cold today and windy with gusts around 40 mph possible. Overnight wind chills will sink into the negatives.
PLAINS: High: 30s; Low: 10s. Cold and really windy today in Crowley, Lincoln, Bent, Kiowa, and Prowers counties with gusts up to 60 mph possible. Overnight wind chills will get down into the negatives and single digits.
WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 20s; Low: 10s. Cold and windy today with gusts in the 30 to 40 mph range. Overnight wind chills will sink into the negatives.
MOUNTAINS: High: 30s; Low: <10. We'll stay very windy in the mountains and valley today with cold air lasting well into the overnight hours. There could be a stray flurry or two out in the high country but most of today looks dry. Overnight wind chills will sink well into the negatives.
Extended Outlook:
Christmas Eve, Thursday, looks much warmer out there with highs back in the 50s across the lower elevations! We'll still be breezy tomorrow but the sunshine will make it feel better. Friday, Christmas Day, looks amazing with lighter winds and highs in the 50s. We'll stay dry this weekend but there could be snow next Monday and Tuesday.
