Today’s Forecast:
The winds will be very gusty today out of the north but the skies will be drier compared to the last few afternoons. Wind gusts out of the north will be around 30 mph from the mid morning through the early afternoon. Any rain today will stay mostly over the mountains, with virga (rain evaporating before it hits the ground) over the lower elevations.
COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 67; Low: 38. Windy with gusts in the 30 mph range from mid morning to the early afternoon and a few late day showers over the mountains blowing gusty winds across town.
PUEBLO: High: 74; Low: 39. Brighter skies with no rain likely and windy conditions from the late morning through the early afternoon. 30 to almost 40 mph gusts are possible at times today.
CANON CITY: High: 71; Low: 42. Windy with 20 mph gusts today and a few mountain showers that could blow gusty winds through town at the end of the day.
WOODLAND PARK: High: 57; Low: 32. Windy with building clouds at the end of the day and an isolated shower, even though virga is much more likely.
TRI-LAKES: High: 50s; Low: 30s. Windy with 30 mph gusts from the mid morning through the early afternoon and a stray shower possible at the end of the day.
PLAINS: High: 70s; Low: 40s. Strong wind gusts at times today out of the north with 30 to low 40 mph gust speeds possible. Skies will likely stay dry today.
WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 70s; Low: 30s. Warm and windy at times today with strong northerly gusts. We should stay dry today with any rain staying out west over the mountains.
Extended Outlook:
We'll bring afternoon rain and thunderstorms back more widespread on Thursday with more gusty winds. There doesn't look like any severe weather tomorrow but we could still see some gusty winds and lightning/thunder. A cold front will push highs down into the 50s and 60s on Friday with more rain. We'll keep dry skies over the weekend with much warmer air by Monday and Tuesday.
