Dry across the region but with lots of wind in and out of the mountains. Sunshine will start warming the air this morning, and as it rises up towards the jet stream, we'll start seeing the winds increase. We'll see 40 to 50 mph gusts in the mountains and valleys today, with 30 to 40 mph gusts along most of the interstate. Temperatures will be seasonal today but very cold overnight as the winds die down.
COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 47; Low: 20. Dry and windy today with the strongest wind gusts around 35 mph.
PUEBLO: High: 53; Low: 15. Sunny and windy today with the strongest wind gusts around 40 mph.
CANON CITY: High: 50; Low: 32. Dry and windy today with the strongest wind gusts between 35 to 45 mph.
WOODLAND PARK: High: 37; Low: 15. Mostly sunny and windy today with the strongest wind gusts between 30 to 40 mph.
TRI-LAKES: High: 40s; Low: 20s. A few clouds with strong afternoon winds gusting around 35 mph.
PLAINS: High: 50s; Low: 10s. Sunny, dry, and windy today with wind gusts east of El Paso and Pueblo counties gusting up near 30 mph.
WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 40s; Low: 20s. Dry and very windy today with gusts along I-25 between 35 to 45 mph and up around 50 mph west into the mountain towns.
Extended Outlook:
The rest of this week is either going to be windy, or simply breezy. The mountains will stay windiest today with dry skies today and tomorrow. Light snow may show up in the mountains by Wednesday, but heavier snow will show up by Thursday and Friday. We'll stay mostly dry across the lower elevations this week, but the Raton Mesa could see a wintry mix Thursday evening and our southern mountains may see light snow Friday.
