Strong winds and fire danger on Sunday

Tonight's Forecast:
This evening will be breezy in the plains, with stronger winds moving into the mountains overnight. Winds will be strong from a westerly direction through Sunday evening.

RED FLAG WARNING in effect for the entire News5 viewing area Sunday from 11 am to 9 pm. New and existing wildfires may spread rapidly under these conditions. DO NOT burn anything outdoors.

COLORADO SPRINGS: Low: 49; High: 78. Warm and windy Sunday with gusts 40-50 mph.

PUEBLO: Low: 48; High: 84. Very warm on Sunday with strong winds gusting up to 45 mph.

CANON CITY: Low: 53; High: 79. A bit cooler Sunday with strong winds all day gusting 40-50 mph.

WOODLAND PARK: Low: 43; High: 67. A cooler day with strong wind gusts 45-50 mph.

TRI-LAKES: Low: 40s; High: 70s. Mid 40s tonight and low 70s tomorrow, with strong winds Sunday.

PLAINS: Low: 40s/50s; High: 80s. Upper 40s and low 50s tonight. Upper 80s tomorrow with wind gusts 30-40 mph.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: Low: 40s/50s; High: 80s. Upper 40s tonight and low 80s tomorrow with winds gusting up to 45 mph.

Extended Outlook:
Next week will start slightly cooler, to the 60s and 70s. Then we will have a warm day in the 70s and 80s Wednesday ahead of a Wednesday night cold front which will bring temperatures down to near average to wrap up the week. Expect conditions to stay generally dry.
