It's a crazy weather day with areas of dense fog, arctic cold, flurries and drizzle in the morning followed by windy, dry, and warm conditions in the afternoon! This fog with flurries and drizzle will linger through the mid-morning, but dry downslope winds will then take over through the afternoon and push temperatures along I-25 into the 50s. We'll be dry and cold tonight with light winds.
COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 51; Low: 24. Foggy and cold in the morning with stray flurries or freezing drizzle, but warm and windy in the afternoon with gusts in the 30 mph range.
PUEBLO: High: 57; Low: 24. Patchy fog and cold in the morning but windy and warmer in the afternoon with wind gusts in the 30 mph range.
CANON CITY: High: 53; Low: 27. Foggy and cold in the morning with stray flurries or freezing drizzle followed by strong winds in the afternoon with gusts in the 30-40 mph range.
WOODLAND PARK: High: 42; Low: 25. Cold in the morning but really windy and warmer in the afternoon with 40 mph daytime wind gusts.
TRI-LAKES: High: 40s; Low: 20s. Patchy fog and cold this morning with windy and warmer daytime conditions with wind gusts in the 30 mph range.
PLAINS: High: 40/50s; Low: 20s. Foggy and cold in the morning with gusty winds in the afternoon, the strongest gusts will be west of La Junta near the I-25 corridor.
WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 50s; Low: 20s. Cold in the morning with warm air and strong winds in the afternoon with gusts in the 30-40 mph range, especially west of I-25.
MOUNTAINS: High: 40s; Low: 20s. Really windy through the mountains today with gusts in the 30 to 50 mph range, higher gusts at the upper elevations. We should stay dry in the mountains today.
Extended Outlook:
The forecast will be a lot less windy over the next few days, but cold air is here to stay. Highs will be in the 40s through Thursday in the plains, but arctic air and highs in the 20s could move in this weekend. Light snow or flurries are possible on Friday and Saturday.
