Hot with isolated severe storms in the eastern plains

Today’s Forecast:
Hot and dry is the forecast today for most of Colorado, but there could be some strong to severe storms that develop out east late today. A dryline coming off the mountains will work to generate storms north of the Palmer Divide, and south in Las Animas to Baca Counties. These storms could be strong to severe, and a few of them could curl into Kiowa County at the end of the day.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 93; Low: 58. Hot, dry, and breezy with increased cloud cover in the afternoon.

PUEBLO: High: 99; Low: 60. Very hot and dry today with a stronger breeze and a bit more cloud cover in the afternoon.

CANON CITY: High: 96; Low: 62. Very hot and dry with gusty afternoon winds and a mix of sun and clouds.

WOODLAND PARK: High: 83; Low: 52. Warm and dry with gusty west winds at times.

TRI-LAKES: High: 80s; Low: 50s. Hot, dry, and breezy with increased cloud cover in the afternoon.

PLAINS: High: 90s; Low: 60s. Hot and dry in the afternoon, but scattered strong to severe storms are possible in Las Animas to Baca County, as well as Kiowa to Cheyenne Counties in the mid to late day.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 90s; Low: 60s. Dry and hot with gusty west winds at times.

Extended Outlook:
We're going to be very hot and near records on Wednesday and Thursday, especially in Colorado Springs. Storm chances increase over the weekend as we get a couple of cold fronts.
