Today’s Forecast:
We're going to be hot and smoky across the region again today. Highs will soar into the 90s and lower 100s. Smoke is still going to be very thick today, especially in and around the mountains. We'll see scattered storms develop this afternoon, most of which will stay west of I-25. Towns right near the mountains like Colorado Springs, Canon City, and Walsenburg could see an isolated late day storm, but dry air will make it tough for rain to fall.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 94; Low: 60. Hot and smoky with a chance for spotty to isolated thunderstorms at the end of the day. The air is so dry that most of town will probably stay dry and see more gusty wind or maybe a stray bolt of lightning instead of rain.

PUEBLO: High: 100; Low: 61. Hot and dry today with plenty of smoke through the sky.

CANON CITY: High: 98; Low: 65. Like Colorado Springs, mostly hot and dry with smoke but at the end of the day there's a small chance for an isolated thunderstorm that would be more inclined to put down gusty winds and lighting over rain.

WOODLAND PARK: High: 85; Low: 54. Warm and smoky with a chance for spotty and isolated thunderstorms at the end of the day.

TRI-LAKES: High: 80s; Low: 50s. Warm and smoky with a very low chance for an isolated storm at the end of the day.

PLAINS: High: 90/100s; Low: 60s. Hot and dry with smoky skies and a stronger breeze at the end of the day.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 90s; Low: 20s. We're expecting hot and breezy conditions with smoke and a few isolated storms out west in the mountains.

Extended Outlook:
Tomorrow will be very similar today, hot and smoky, but with less thunderstorm activity over the mountains. We're looking a couple degrees cooler by Wednesday but with a better chance for rain in the mountain and along I-25. We'll cool down and see a much better chance for rain by Friday and Saturday.
