Today’s Forecast:
Hot and smoky today with a chance for showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Storm chances stay highest over the mountains today, but a few will try to wander out into Fremont and El Paso counties near Canon City and Colorado Springs.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 93; Low: 61. Hot and smoky with a chance for spotty to isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon. The air is so dry that most of town will probably stay dry and see more gusty wind and sprinkles, possibly a stray bolt of lightning instead of much rain.

PUEBLO: High: 99; Low: 63. Hot and dry today with plenty of smoke through the sky. Rain chances are very low today as most of the moisture will stay west by the mountains.

CANON CITY: High: 96; Low: 66. Like Colorado Springs, mostly hot and dry with smoke but in the afternoon there's a small chance for an isolated thunderstorm that would be more inclined to put down gusty winds, sprinkles, and lighting over rain.

WOODLAND PARK: High: 84; Low: 54. Warm and smoky with a chance for scattered showers and storms in the afternoon. Storms will be non-severe.

TRI-LAKES: High: 80s; Low: 50s. Hot and smoky with a chance for spotty showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon but non-severe weather is expected.

PLAINS: High: 90/100s; Low: 60s. Hot, smoky, and breezy in the afternoon with dry skies.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 90s; Low: 60s. Hot and breezy conditions with smoke and a few isolated storms out west in the mountains.

Extended Outlook:
We're going to see a better chance for storms on Wednesday, not only over the mountains but along I-25 and some of the plains to the east. Storms will be isolated on Thursday, and we'll be hot through Thursday afternoon. We cool down on Friday with a great chance for thunderstorms, followed by more storms on Saturday before we dry out a bit on Sunday and Monday.
