Today’s Forecast:
Very hot air will stick around in Colorado for at least one more day, with plenty of thunderstorms in the mountains and adjacent plains from the late day through the early evening. Temperatures will soar into the 90s and a few triple digits across the I-25 corridor and eastern plains this afternoon, with low 80s in the mountains. Storms will be widespread but scattered through the mountains, with more rain along the Front Range compared to the Wet and Sangre De Cristo Range. Storms will hop out of the mountains into the I-25 corridor and adjacent plains at the end of the day and through the early evening. Severe weather is not expected.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High - 92; Low - 61. Hot and dry through the morning with showers and thunderstorms from the end of the day through the early evening. Severe weather is not expected but gusty winds, lightning, and spotty heavy rain are all possible through the evening.

PUEBLO: High - 99; Low - 65. Sunny and very hot today with dry skies expected through the mid afternoon. Isolated showers and storms are possible at the end of the day and early this evening, but no severe weather is expected.

CANON CITY: High - 96; Low - 66. Hot and dry through the morning with showers and thunderstorms from the end of the day through the early evening. Severe weather is not expected but gusty winds, lightning, and spotty heavy rain are all possible through the evening.

WOODLAND PARK: High - 82; Low - 53. Warm and dry through the morning with scattered showers and thunderstorms from the afternoon to the early evening. Heavy rain, lightning and gusty winds are all possible in storms.

TRI-LAKES: High - 80s; Low - 50s. Warm and dry through the morning with showers and thunderstorms from the end of the day through the early evening. Severe weather is not expected but gusty winds, lightning, and spotty heavy rain are all possible through the evening.

PLAINS: High - 90/100s; Low - 60s. Sunny and very hot today with mostly dry skies expected for areas east of El Paso and Pueblo counties later today and tonight. Las Animas County could see a few isolated storms that spark off the Raton Mesa.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High - 90s; Low - 60s. Hot and dry through the morning with a few isolated showers and storms moving off the mountains and Raton Mesa from the mid afternoon to the early evening. Storms today would stay non severe but gusty winds and lightning are possible in storms later today.

Extended Outlook:
Monsoonal moisture really arrives Thursday, prompting widespread and heavier rain across the mountains and southern Colorado through the afternoon. Rain chances will stick around daily into early next week. Temperatures will start to fall tomorrow and stay relatively mild through the weekend.
