High fire danger on Friday in southern Colorado

Tonight's Forecast:
This evening will be mostly clear and calm, with warmer than average overnight temperatures.

For Friday, a RED FLAG WARNING HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR LAKE, CHAFFEE, FREMONT AND TELLER COUNTY, AND WESTERN EL PASO COUNTY FROM NOON UNTIL 8 PM.

COLORADO SPRINGS: Low: 55; High: 91. Very hot with the standing record high at 87.

PUEBLO: Low: 51; High: 97. It'll be a scorcher with a possible tie of the record high temperature which stands at 97.

CANON CITY: Low: 55; High: 93. Red flag warning for high fire danger with humidity dropping below 10% wind gusts up to 35 mph.

WOODLAND PARK: Low: 48; High: 81. Red flag warning for high fire danger with humidity dropping below 10% wind gusts up to 35 mph.

TRI-LAKES: Low: 50s; High: 80s. Upper 80s, near 90 with breezy winds and dry weather.

PLAINS: Low: 50s; High: 90s/100s. Upper 90s for most of the plains, with La Junta and Lamar possibly reaching 100.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: Low: 50s; High: 90s. Low 90s with breezy winds and dry weather.

Extended Outlook:
Staying very warm and near-record heat on Saturday. A cold front is likely to arrive Sunday bringing cooler temperatures and we are watching for the potential of precipitation.
