Today’s Forecast: RED FLAG WARNING

Spectacular Today. The jet lifts northward, a ridge of High Pressure is departing, and down-slope wind all combine to bring early Summer-like weather! Records are definitely in the realm of possibility today (80F for Springs, 85F is the record for Pueblo.)

Tomorrow is a transitional day.

A cold front sweeps through, sweeping out the warmer air, and temps begin falling before noon in Monument, noon-ish in the Springs, and after 2pm in Pueblo. With the front, a brief rain shower in the mid afternoon. Then a lull. Then, towards evening, showers of rain…change to snow. It appears there will be some steadier snow nearer the Palmer Divide and west of Manitou, Canon City, but…with the ground so warm lately, not concerned about slippery conditions, at least not until after Midnite, and only for the overnight hours. For places from Springs…south and east, any change to snow showers tomorrow evening, is a total footnote to several hours of stormy weather tomorrow evening.

Early showers of snow (and/or rain) will quickly depart, and clouds will begin to break by mid-morning, but blustyer cold winds will remain until evening…

And on a final note, it appears the dry warmth builds right back in Sunday through Tuesday again!

COLORADO SPRINGS:  High: 79, Low: 50. Partly to mostly sunny, becoming windy & warm today. Partly cloudy & breezy tonight.

PUEBLO:  High: 86, Low: 48. Mostly sunny, becoming windy & warm today. Partly cloudy & breezy tonight.

CANON CITY:  High: 82, Low: 50. Mostly sunny, becoming windy & warm today. Partly cloudy & breezy tonight.

TRI-LAKES:  High: 70, Low: 41. Partly to mostly sunny, becoming windy & warm today. Partly cloudy & breezy tonight.

PLAINS:  High: 88, Low: 51. Partly to mostly sunny, becoming windy & warm today. Partly cloudy & breezy tonight.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD:  High: 84, Low; 51. Mostly sunny, becoming windy & warm today. Partly cloudy & breezy tonight.

Extended Outlook: Windy and becoming cooler and unsettled for Wednesday (50s) with afternoon and evening rain-showers, changing to snow for many in the evening, and ending early Thursday morning. Maybe some sprinkles or flurries Friday later day. Gradual clearing Saturday, and by Sunday, right back in to what we’ve had the past few days
