Today’s Forecast:

Areas of fog for the plains early this morning. Clouds will try to increase today with a chance for a few pm flurries/light snow showers. It’ll be tough to pick up any actual accumulation with these. Temperatures will be cooler, only in the 40’s to low 50’s. Winds stay strong today with gusts over 30 mph.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High – 44; Low – 14. Cooler and windy with a chance for light snow later today.

CANON CITY: High – 50; Low – 18. Areas of fog/freezing fog this morning. Windy today and cooler with a chance for a stray shower.

WOODLAND PARK: High – 34; Low – 8. Strong winds today with a chance for pm showers.

TRI-LAKES: High – 30’s; Low – 10’s. Cooler and windy with areas of clouds and a small chance for a stray shower.

PLAINS: High – 50’s; Low – 10’s. Areas of fog/freezing fog this morning. Cooler and windy today with a chance for isolated pm showers.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High – 50’s; Low – 10’s. Windy today with a few showers.

NEXT WEEK: Clearing skies and calmer winds overnight. Lows mainly in the 10’s. Sunday will be colder with highs in the 30’s to low 40’s. We start the day dry, but the chance for snow showers will return by the evening and overnight, continuing into Monday for many areas. Snow chances will actually continue all the way into Tuesday morning for most. Highest potential for decent accumulations looks to be along and south of hwy 50 for right now. Several inches in total between now and Tuesday are likely for those areas. Accumulations generally look pretty light around the Pikes Peak Region. This could still change as models come together. Plan on needing some extra time for commutes, especially Monday and Tuesday morning. Aside from the snow, winds will be breezy and temperatures will be frigid. Highs will settle into only the teens for most on Monday and Tuesday. A touch milder for the rest of the week.
