Hot weather continues until a cool front spells us some weekend relief, starting Friday night. Expect Friday to again challenge 90F in the Springs, and upper 90s for Pueblo. After the front passes, the tail end of it will actually serve to draw up a little monsoonal moisture, so that storms are possible in the I-25 corridor, and likely in the Plains, both weekend afternoons. As for the holiday, the chances are smaller for both areas, but “possible”. In any case, the rain risks are confined to mid afternoons through mid evenings, as usual. And, it will be nice to get those high temperatures into the 70s and low 80s for 3 consecutive days, too.

Colorado Springs: Low: 59. High: 86. Clear tonight. Mostly sunny (hazy sun) & warm Friday.

Pueblo: Low: 61. High: 92. Clear tonight. Mostly sunny & hot Friday.

Canon City: Low: 62. High: 88. Clear tonight. Mostly sunny (hazy sun) & hot Friday.

Woodland Park: Low: 51. High: 79. Clear tonight. Partly sunny (high clouds) & warm Friday.

Tri Lakes: Low: 55. High: 84. Clear tonight. Partly sunny (high clouds) & warm Friday.

Plains: Low: 63. High: 95. Clear tonight. Mostly sunny & hot Friday.

Walsenburg/Trinidad: Low: 61. High: 89. Clear tonight. Mostly sunny & hot Friday.

Extended outlook…play it safe, and expect a thundershower Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Tuesday, too. As for Autumn, it begins in September 22, but I see no early turn to our temperatures, for at least several weeks more…
