Weather Alert Day: Strong to severe storms

Today’s Forecast: More cloud cover in the mix today with highs mainly in the 70’s to low 80’s. Exact highs will depend on how quickly rain arrives to cool things down. Mainly PM showers and storms will be the case today. These will be a little more abundant than yesterday with the potential to be strong to severe. Heavy rain, hail, and strong winds will be the main concerns. Heavy rain could cause more issues for areas that got soaked yesterday.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High – 76; Low – 55. Showers/storms develop this afternoon. Strong to severe storms will be possible.

PUEBLO: High – 82; Low – 58. PM showers/storms, some could be strong to severe.

CANON CITY: High – 82; Low – 58. Showers and storms develop this afternoon. They could be strong to severe.

WOODLAND PARK: High – 71; Low – 47. Showers and storms developing. Some could be strong to severe.

TRI-LAKES: High – 70’s; Low – 50’s. PM showers/storms. Some could be strong to severe.

PLAINS: High – 80’s; Low – 60’s. Strong to severe storms possible this afternoon and evening. 

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High – 80’s; Low – 50’s. Strong to severe thunderstorm possible this afternoon.

NEXT WEEK: Drier conditions take over for Sunday and Monday. Any shower or storm activity will be very isolated. Highs will be in the 70’s and 80’s. Winds will be strong for Sunday with gusts over 30 mph at times. Similar temperatures through the middle of the week, but moisture will return with more abundant pm showers/storms for Tuesday and Wednesday. Warmer for the rest of the week with highs in the 80’s to low 90’s. Small chance for a stray PM shower/storm to wrap up the work/school week, but generally drier for both Thursday and Friday.
