Today’s Forecast:
A little more cloud cover throughout the day, but highs will still make it into the 80’s and 90’s later this afternoon. A few showers and thunderstorms will develop over the mountains and push east this afternoon and evening. Some of these could have heavy rain so the potential for flash flooding will be a concern around the burn scars. Improving skies tonight with lows in the 60’s.
COLORADO SPRINGS: High – 89; Low – 61. A chance for showers/storms later today. Above average temperatures.
PUEBLO: High – 98; Low – 66. A hot day with a chance for a pm shower/storm.
CANON CITY: High – 93; Low – 67. Not quite as hot with areas of pm showers/storms.
WOODLAND PARK: High – 80; Low – 54. PM showers/storms develop with temperatures staying above average.
TRI-LAKES: High – 80’s; Low – 60’s. Areas of pm showers/storms. Another warm day.
PLAINS: High – 90’s; Low – 60’s. A chance for a shower/storm this evening. Another hot day.
WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High – 90’s; Low – 60’s. Chance for a couple pm showers/storms.
NEXT WEEK:
Monsoon moisture is hanging around for at least the next week. There will be a chance for showers/storms every day with showers and storms developing over the mountains and pushing east into the lower elevations. These storms could have areas of heavy rain and burn scars will be a concern for the next week. This is the prime time of the year for us to actually get some rain and improve our drought conditions. Temperatures stay hot for Sunday with highs mainly in the 90’s. Cooler air arrives for the work week. Monday will be the coolest day of the week with highs in the 70’s and 80’s. Back into the 80’s to low 90’s for the rest of the week.
