Tonight’s Forecast:
Our weather really comes down to two things for the next week. One is a building ridge at all levels of the atmosphere, and two is a developing monsoonal flow. There’s a little more to the story for #2. It requires a ridge to build westward, from the East Coast, up to our part of the world. It also requires a "heat low" to form in the desert southwest, which has yet to form. So, parts of #2 are coming together, but it’s not a sealed deal, yet.

That’s longer-term. short term, the ridge over us, going to the top of the atmosphere, will make it tough to form storms for several days. Really, only the border counties with Kansas have any realistic chances. But come Thursday and Friday, as the East Coast ridge builds westward, it will push backwards, some moisture, which gives all of us a realistic shot at rain late this coming week. And high temperatures are dependent on that happening…or not. Either way, it will heat up again next weekend.
