Today’s Forecast:
The plains got healthy rain Saturday but unfortunately for much of the Front Range and I-25 corridor… we stayed dry. Today very moist air remains over southern Colorado. A cold front pushing into the Pikes Peak region later today will give Teller and El Paso counties the best chance for rain we’ve seen in awhile. It looks like there could be a few scattered storms in the area during the early afternoon but the best chances seem to be anytime after 3pm through Teller and then El Paso county. If thunderstorms are heavy enough around El Paso county later today we could push some rain down into Pueblo, but the most likely areas will remain up around Teller and El Paso counties.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High – 67; Low – 33. Scattered storms are possible later this afternoon after 3pm and then again tonight. If we do get rain to form, heavy rains with flash flooding will be a concern due to our dry, baked ground. Small hail is also a possibility in any storms late today.

PUEBLO: High – 67; Low – 33. Looking mainly dry and hot today but if we do see rain it would likely be towards the very end of the day or early tonight. Any rain that does form could be heavy but flooding concerns are fairly low.

CANON CITY: High – 67; Low – 33. Scattered showers and storms are possible today through the late afternoon and evening hours. The best chances for rain are actually all areas around (west, north, east) of Canon City but we still have a chance for sporadic heavy rain.

WOODLAND PARK: High – 67; Low – 33. Heavy rain and thunderstorms are possible later this afternoon through tonight. Lightning, small hail and even flooding are all concerns if we can get rain to develop today. We should be dry by 10pm tonight.

TRI-LAKES: High – 67; Low – 33. Scattered rain and thunderstorms are likely later today and tonight. Small hail, lightning small hail are possible from storms later today and tonight with flooding a mild concern through the evening.

PLAINS: High – 67; Low – 33. Mainly hot and dry today but a few scattered storms just off I-25 into the plains are possible later today.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High – 67; Low – 33. Mainly dry but a few spotty showers and storms are possible later today and tonight.

WEEKEND OUTLOOK OR NEXT WEATHER MAKER
Monday looks nice and dry with fairly seasonable temperatures as Colorado Springs warms to the lower 80s and Pueblo the low 90s. Better rain chances return Tuesday and Wednesday, but as we head to the end of the week rain chances thin out and the heat cranks up.
