Skies will be sunny in the morning with some cloud cover building in during the second half of the day. Winds will be strong from the south and southeast later today with gusts over 30 mph. Fire danger will be very high with Red Flag Warnings along and west of I-25. Avoid burning and anything that could start a fire as you celebrate the holiday weekend!

NEXT WEEK
Sunday morning starts in the 50’s and 60’s. It’ll be another very hot one with highs well into the upper 80’s and 90’s, potentially some more records. It’ll be another windy day with very high fire danger. The far eastern plains will have the chance for strong to severe storms during the second half of the day. Memorial Day will be slightly cooler as an upper level low moves east. Highs will still be mainly in the 80’s as of now. We’ll have a slightly better chance to have a few very isolated showers and storms. Some of those could again be strong to severe for the plains. Cooler and a little more active for Tuesday and Wednesday. Highs will be in the 70’s and 80’s with the chance for a few pm showers/storms. Again, severe storms could be possible, especially for the plains. Looking drier and hotter for the end of the week with highs in the 80’s and 90’s and high fire danger likely.
