You Can Now Buy Tortilla Chips In The Shape Of Autumn Leaves

Have you ever tried to make tortilla chips in your own kitchen? Maybe in a fun holiday shape for a party? Perhaps you succeeded and your tortilla chips are now a hit. For the rest of us (ahem, me), it doesn’t quite work out so well.

I’ve tried a few times to make them at home with tortilla shells and a fun cookie cutter, and not only were they not very tasty, but they didn’t exactly have the look I was going for, either. Luckily, if you’ll be hosting a fall get-together this year, Trader Joe’s has your back with brand-new leaf-shaped tortilla chips.

Instagram user kristines_ig spotted them at her local Trader Joe’s and ended up buying two bags, because, as she wrote, “How could I not buy these?! So cute!!”

The chips come in a 14-ounce bag and are around $2.99. Instagrammer @carls1073 even put them in chicken tortilla soup to make it more festive, thanking Trader Joes for the “cutest tortilla chips I’ve ever seen.”

And here’s another look from @lasveganstepher, who mixed the autumn leave chips with Trader Joe’s ghosts and bats-themed chips for an entire festive plate of snacks:

Trader Joe’s seems to be celebrating the season in a big way. This picture from @creative_eating_as_we_see_it shows some of the yummy fall-themed options you can pick up at the grocery chain right now — including the leaf corn tortilla chips, the ghosts and bats potato snacks and even a harvest-themed collection of dark chocolates.

You can also find fall harvest salsa at the store right now, which will make a perfect accompaniment for your chips. Made with pumpkin, apples, butternut squash, fire-roasted tomatillos, red bell peppers, jalapeños and lime juice, it comes in a 12-ounce jar and retails for $2.99.

Now all you need for your fall party is a set of pumpkin-shaped bowls for serving your festive chips and salsa, like this pumpkin dish at Target.

This set of three maple leaf-shaped condiment dishes from Williams-Sonoma are also perfect for a seasonal gathering.

But back to the food itself. If you don’t have a Trader Joe’s near you, you could try your hand at making your own leaf-shaped tortilla chips (hopefully, you’ll have better luck than I did).

To go along with your chips, you can also stop by The Fresh Market and pick up some of its harvest pumpkin salsa. One of its most popular seasonal items, the salsa combines pumpkin, jalapenos, tomatoes and spice for a sweet-and-savory blend.

Enjoy the season!
