Taco Bell keeps coming at us with new announcements, and we are here for a strong start to their 2021 fast-food game. Less than a month after announcing they’re bringing the popular Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes back to the menu, Taco Bell just dropped the news that customers will soon be able to create their own $5 Cravings Box.

Members of Taco Bell’s rewards beta testing program got early access to Cravings Boxes on Feb. 2, but this limited-time deal will be extended to everyone on Feb. 11.

Taco Bell is calling it a do-it-yourself deal. With the $5 build-your-own Cravings Box, customers will be able to customize their meal deals in up to 18 different ways. The goal, according to Taco Bell, is to combine value and choice for its customers.

“As we see it, there aren’t a lot of choices out there when it comes to value, forcing customers to play by others’ rules. But when your fans have different favorites on the menu, why not celebrate that?” said Nikki Lawson, Taco Bell’s chief global brand officer, in a press release.

Once they launch, the boxes will include a specialty, starter, side and medium drink. When ordering through the Taco Bell mobile app or website, customers will see their $5 Cravings Box choices broken down into the following categories:

  • Specialties: a signature item like the Chalupa Supreme, Cheesy Gordita Crunch or Crunchwrap
  • Starters: a Crunchy Taco, Soft Taco, Beefy 5-Layer Burrito or Bean and Cheese Burrito
  • Sides: Chips & Nacho Cheese Sauce or Cinnamon Twists
  • Drinks : A choice of medium-sized fountain drink

Those looking for vegetarian options don’t need to worry. Customers can swap beans for the meat in any of the choices listed above.

To become a member of the Taco Bell Rewards program, just head to their website to download the app and start saving on your favorite Taco Bell items. The company told USA Today that anyone who signs up will get access to the $5 Cravings Box the next day, as well as a free Doritos Locos Taco for signing up for the program.
