COLORADO SPRINGS — On Saturday night, a professional sports contest will take place in Colorado Springs for the first time since March.
The Switchbacks FC will take on New Mexico United in their first game of the restarted USL season.
The Switchbacks put the finishing touches on their game plan on Friday, and hope that last weekends scrimmage prepared them for a real thing this weekend.
"It's been simulated," explained Switchbacks FC head coach Alan Koch. "We have been trying to create things and now it has become reality. Now you are playing for 3 points. There are consequences for you actions. If you concede a goal, you are going to lose a game. This really is the fun part."
Kickoff at Weidner Field at Saturday night is 6 p.m.
Only season ticket holders are allowed to attend the match.
