A familiar face has taken over the reins of the University of Colorado- Colorado Springs Soccer program, former Regis head coach J.B. Belzer.
After spending 24 years as the helm of the Rangers program, one of the top 10 winningest coach in Division II history will look to do the same for the Mountain Lions.
"Our job is to help them achieve what they really want, a regional championship, league title, conference tournament title, may this year, maybe next year, a national championship, that's a realistic goal for this program," Belzer said.
Belzer replaced longtime UCCS head coach Sian Hudson, who left the program take the same position at LSU.
The RMAC regular season champions return almost the entire roster from last year's 19-2 squad which earned a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
"I think sometimes change is a good thing and we've adapted really well," junior midfielder Tarah Patterson (Sand Creek) said. "We'll definitely benefit from someone being in our conference before and just knowing how teams play and he's familiar with how we play, which is also a benefit."
