SCOTTSDALE, Ariz – While Coloradans are experiencing frigid mornings and the occasional snow, Rockies pitchers and catchers will soon be out in the sun getting ready to play ball.

Pitchers and catchers report to the team’s spring training facility in Scottsdale, Ariz. on Wednesday. Chuck Nazty, Cargo and Nolan won’t be too far behind- they report next Monday for a full squad workout. The team will begin spring training games on Feb. 23 with the first game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The team’s superb Twitter account is documenting the trip to the American southwest by live-tweeting the journey from Denver to the Grand Canyon State, you can check out their adventures below.

Looking ahead to the regular season, it’s only six weeks away! The Rockies will open their season on the road against the Miami Marlins on March 28. The Rockies will return to Coors Field on Friday, April 5 for their home opener against the Dodgers.

The Rockies are looking to build on last season’s success when they won 91 games and advanced to the NLDS where they eventually fell to the Milwaukee Brewers.
