COLORADO SPRINGS — Large crowds turned out at Historic Rock Ledge Ranch, where a full day of activities was planned for those looking for a more traditional 4th of July holiday.

Living historians from the Sons of the American Revolution were on hand talking about what it was like to be a soldier during the American Revolution.

"We're not celebrating the Fourth of July," said Revolutionary Historian Rick Neely. "We're celebrating our independence, and also to let people know that history should not be forgotten."

Rock Ledge Ranch is a living history site that provides programs year-round.
