COLORADO SPRINGS — If you're an adult, you probably know the feeling. That familiar pain you get, when you've reached a little too far, and now something's out of place.

Dr. Seth Ryan, a Chiropractor and owner of 100 Percent Chiropractic, says nowadays back injuries are very common.

"With people being home right now a lot more yard chores are getting done, so those disk injuries tend to come back when you are bending forward and not paying attention to your lifting posture," Dr. Ryan said.

That's just one end of the spectrum. For Ryan's clients who have more serious injuries, the pain for them has been unbearable.

"I've gotten over 150 messages, voice mails and texts. Some are saying hey I can't get out of bed," he said.

Since the beginning of the Governor's stay-at-home order, chiropractic clinics weren't considered essential and were forced to close. Dr. Ryan says many of his patients have had to rely on over the counter pain medicine, because he was also forced to shut down.

"Some patients have said they were forced to take an opioid or take a ton of ibuprofen, and with the kind of practice we run our patients are debilitated by that."

Now that some non-essential businesses are planning to re-open soon, Ryan is left with a back-breaking task; Getting all of his patients who need adjustment, in the door, safely.

"My goal is to get people back to feeling better and healthy and doing it in a safe manner."
