Piper Vaughn is excited to tell the stories of her own community. Piper is a Colorado native and is thrilled to be reporting in her home state.
Vaughn enjoys the thrilling environment that encompasses reporting. Each day brings new challenges and new stories to cover. She is passionate about telling stories in a meaningful and impactful way to make a difference in the community.
Born and raised in Castle Rock, Colorado, Piper Vaughn attended the University of Colorado at Boulder where she fostered her love for journalism. Graduating Summa Cum Laude, Vaughn continued her passion for broadcast news at the University of Southern California where she received her master’s degree in journalism.
Vaughn was also a Carnegie-Knight News21 fellow at Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication where she reported on policing in America and use of force practices.
Vaughn cherishes the four years she spent at Boulder where she was the Managing Editor for the student-led newspaper, The Bold. She also reported for CU’s on-air broadcast. She is an alumna of Alpha Phi Sorority.
During her time at USC, Piper Vaughn enjoyed reporting for Annenberg Media, but will always remain a CU fan for life. Sko Buffs!
Piper enjoys being outdoors. She spends her time doing water sports, fishing, camping, and everything in between! Being the daredevil of her family, Piper is always up for a new adventure and is excited to explore Colorado Springs!
