COLORADO SPRINGS — There's no arguing that the Coronavirus (COVID-19) has changed a massive portion of our daily lives.

In the midst of these changes, many local businesses and organizations are finding ways to overcome and adapt to keep their doors open, while at the same time, help those around them.

Similarly those hit hard are reporting a tremendous outpouring of support from the community.

This outpouring reminding all of us that while this global epidemic has changed so much, it HASN'T changed people's desire for community.

This is We're Open Colorado, a segment dedicated to highlighting local businesses and organizations that are still open or are reopening and finding unique ways to serve the community.

With all of this in mind, let's take a look at Tide Cleaners which has been and continues to provide free laundry and dry cleaning services to front-line responders and their families.

Starting at the end of March and continuing through June, Tide Cleaners, which has a store location in Colorado Springs, are running the "loads of hope" initiative. This service is aimed at providing medical employees and first responders access to free laundry and dry cleaning services.

It's just another way to say thank you and help those who have been putting in long hours keeping our community safe.

"That way they can go home and they can spend some time, the little time that they have, with their families and not have to worry about the little things," commented Lisa Carpenter, assistant manager at the local Tide Cleaners location.

"Tide Cleaners is here to support our community in whatever capacity and whatever way that we can do," added Marcus Correa, genearl manager of the store.

Over the course of the initiative, the store reports having been able to help clean hundreds of loads of laundry, a service they are ecstatic to provide.
