FOUNTAIN — We're keeping track of local southern Colorado restaurants, bars and coffee shops that are still open for business, offering delivery or take-out options for Coloradans during the COVID-19 crisis.
Now is the time to support local businesses if you're able to and enjoy great food at the same time!
In this week's #TakeoutTuesday, we are featuring Rookies Taphouse and Eatery, located in Fountain at 8017 Fountain Mesa. Rookies Taphouse and Eatery is a locally owned, small business that pride itself in supporting small businesses throughout Colorado. The taphouse & eatery offers multiple local beers on tap, locally sourced food and family owned. It is your go-to sports bar in Fountain!
Alan Samples tells News 5 that he is a dishwasher at Rookies and hasn't worked there in over a month due to COVID-19, but the owners have continued to employee him.
"I love my managers and coworkers," said Samples. "I get the wings, walk of shame burger and a coke. The beer is awesome as well."
Rookies Taphouse and Eatery says they always recommend people call ahead and pick up their order. If they order through Grub Hub online for delivery, they charge 30% more for their fees.
"We post all of our happenings and specials on our Facebook, so we encourage people to follow us there too," said Rookies Taphouse and Eatery in a Facebook message.
During COVID-19, the taphouse is also offering package deals to take home.
They include:
$10 - one roll of paper towels and four rolls of toilet paper
$6 - gallon of bleach
$10 - six 4oz chicken breasts
$15 - six 7oz chuck, brisket and short rib burger patties
$22 - two 12oz Ribeye Steaks
$28 - two 12oz Ribeye Steaks with potatoes and asparagus as sides
