DENVER – Much of Colorado’s presidential primary field is set as of Tuesday as state voters prepare to vote in a presidential primary for the first time in 20 years.

Colorado’s presidential primary will be held on Super Tuesday, March 3 . Monday afternoon was the deadline for candidates to file for the primary, though candidates can still apply to be a write-in candidate until Dec. 27. That is also the last day a candidate can remove their name from the ballot.

The March 3 primary will be the first presidential primary in Colorado in 20 years and just the fourth in state history – the others coming in 1992, 1996 and 2000.

The change from a caucus nomination system for presidential nominees came after Colorado voters passed Proposition 107 in 2016 , which re-established presidential primaries in the state and opened them up to unaffiliated voters.

Unaffiliated voters will receive ballots for both parties but may only vote on one of the ballots. Affiliated voters will have to cast the ballot for their respective party.

The list of candidates as they will appear on the respective party ballots is listed below:

Democrats

· Michael Bennet

· Joseph R. Biden
· Michael R. Bloomberg
· Cory Booker
· Pete Buttigieg
· Julián Castro
· John K. Delaney
· Tulsi Gabbard
· Amy Klobuchar
· Rita Krichevsky
· Deval Patrick
· Bernie Sanders
· Tom Steyer
· Elizabeth Warren
· Robby Wells
· Marianne Williamson
· Andrew Yang

Republicans

· Robert Andini

· Roque “Rocky” De La Fuente
· Zoltan G. Istvan
· Matthew John Matern
· Donald J. Trump
· Joe Walsh
· Bill Weld

Ballots will be sent to military and overseas voters by Jan. 18 and to primary voters starting Feb. 10. The last day for affiliated voters to withdraw their affiliation or for unaffiliated voters to select a party preference is Feb. 3.

Voter services and polling centers will be open between Feb. 24 and March 3.

Colorado’s caucuses will still be held to determine whether some of the nonpresidential candidates will make their respective ballots and to determine delegates for party conventions.

The state primary will take place on June 30 and the 2020 General Election is set for Nov. 3, 2020.
