Amid the coronavirus, it's nice to find some humor and connections, even if it's during a walk.

A family in Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan, put up in their yard deeming a portion of the sidewalk under the "jurisdiction of the Ministry of Silly Walks." The sign says it mandatory to walk in a silly way when passing by their home — a nod to the famous Monty Python skit featuring John Cleese.

"Wherever they go during this skit they walk in very silly ways," said Liz Koto said.

Well, it's now common to find folks walking that way on Yorkshire Road in Grosse Pointe Park.

"The reactions have been so uplifting, so joyful and so happy," Koto said.

The Kotos record video of the silly walks with their doorbell camera, and share the clips on Instagram.

"A couple came by and posted a photo onto her Facebook page and it went bonkers," Koto said.

Scott and Kara Shall happened to walk by and decided to post a photo of their silly walk on Facebook. That post has been shared more than 56,000 thousand times.

"In the comments, people are now posting photos of their sign, they have been inspired by it," Kara Shall said.

People from all over the world have contacted the Kotos complimenting the idea and telling her they will be putting up signs in their neighborhoods.

It's gotten so popular that people are coming from all over to Grosse Point Park do their silly walk.

"Dance like no one is watching, I think silly walk like no one is watching," Kara Shall said. "Even though they are (watching), and they are going to post it on Instagram."
