CRIPPLE CREEK — The 4th Judicial Office for El Paso and Teller counties is releasing some evidence presented during Patrick Frazee's murder trial that resulted in a conviction and life sentence for the killing of his fiancée Kelsey Berreth.

Cameras and live reporting were not allowed during the trial. This is the first opportunity to present to the public evidence shown to the jurors, which includes photos of Frazee visiting locations to establish his alibi and Krystal Kenney showing investigators where she cleaned up blood inside Berreth's townhome.

We've updated the timeline below to reflect the new release, including video interviews with Krystal Kenney on the Frazee property and in Berreth's home, along with the last image of Kelsey as she entered her home with Frazee before her murder.

Today, Nov. 22, is the one-year anniversary of Berreth's death. A candlelight vigil is taking place in Woodland Park tonight. The Woodland Park Police Department is the vigil Friday at Memorial Park starting at 6 p.m. Additionally, the department is holding a celebration of life service on Saturday at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Woodland Park beginning at 2 p.m.

Prosecutors presented their case to the jury that Frazee used a baseball bat to repeatedly beat Berreth to death inside her own home on Thanksgiving 2018. The case faced challenges as Berreth's body was never recovered.

Investigators determined Frazee placed her body inside a black tote that was moved to family property where it was later burned in a fire pit along with other evidence.

It was the townhome walk through and interviews with Kenney that prosecutors deemed "a deal with the devil" in order to understand the full picture of the crime.

Kenney accepted a plea deal on a tampering with evidence charge in order to explain how Frazee repeatedly asked her to kill Berreth with poisoned coffee, a baseball bat or a steel rod. She said Frazee called her late on Thanksgiving night to tell her "you've got a mess to cleanup."

Body camera video from Kenney's walk through of Berreth's townhome shows her explaining everywhere she found blood spattered on the walls, behind furniture, on baby toys, bloody footprints and more.

She said small droplets of blood were intentionally left so she could be caught.

"We wouldn't even know where the murder happened in the apartment, even which room or where it happened at all, without her testimony," District Attorney Dan May said earlier this year.
