PUEBLO — Pueblo continues to prepare for some major elections in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Election officials say social distancing protocols are changing how they operate.
For instance, they're encouraging voters to mail in ballots or use the drop-off boxes, rather than handing them off in-person on election day.
"It's been very difficult and it's going to be expensive but you know, we have to serve the community and democracy has to continue," said Pueblo County Clerk and Recorder Gilbert Ortiz.
Pueblo's special elections are on May 5. Voters should receive ballots in about 10 days.
