EL PASO COUNTY — It's Election Day in southern Colorado!
You have until 7 p.m. tonight to submit your ballot if you haven't done so already.
There are more than two dozen secure ballot drop boxes across El Paso County where you can drop those off.
We have all those locations and hours here.
But just an important reminder: Don't forget to sign your ballot's envelope on the back before you do so, and don't sign anyone else's.
"We do check that signature, and that's how we verify it is you that it is you who casts that ballot, and not somebody else," said Chuck Broerman, El Paso County's Clerk and Recorder.
"And if your signature doesn't match what we have on-file for that, it could hold up your vote and cause it not to count so we want your vote to be heard."
Broerman says El Paso County is anticipating record-setting voter turnout today.
About 129,000 ballots have been submitted as of this morning, and officials are expecting 33 to 44,000 more by the end of the day, which will surpass last year's total of 152,000 ballots.
Broerman is attributing this expected increase in voter participation to both a growing population and the ballot's content.
Even if you're not registered to vote, you can still voice your choice!
Colorado has same-day registration, so you can stop by a voting center today to register and fill out your ballot.
Voting centers are open until 7 p.m. Tuesday night. As long as you're in line by then, your vote will be counted.
To recap, we have all those locations and hours here, and we have all the info you need to know about the items listed on Colorado's 2019 Coordinated Election's ballot here.
