The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office is asking for a grant to help its effort to save lives.
The sheriff's office is asking for $11,000 from the Colorado Department of Transportation to help fund its Click It or Ticket campaign.
They say the money will help fund overtime for deputies who will be looking for any unbuckled drivers.
"It is so important because our community is important to us. We want to keep those individuals safe who are behind the wheel and we can't state it better than that," said Capt. Steve Bryant.
The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office has done a Click It or Ticket campaign since 2007. Each year deputies have caught an average of more than 200 unbuckled drivers.
