COLORADO SPRINGS — Starting back when they first opened their doors, Goat Patch Brewing has been dedicated to helping its surrounding community.
To that end, the Colorado Springs-based brewery works to support and bolster a whole host of nonprofits in various ways.
From an annual campaign set up to support chosen nonprofits, to donations from yearly production, to a weekly event where a portion of proceeds goes toward partnering non-profit organizations.
That last one, dubbed Bleating Heart Night (a pun the brewery is very proud of), takes place every Tuesday evening and was part of the brewery's plan even before they originally opened.
"We actually came up with the idea before we even had a location," stated Johannah Murphey of Goat Patch. "We had the name but really wanted to find a way that we could contribute to the community that was supporting us."
Even now, with the whole world struggling to get through difficulties caused by COVID, this local shop is continuing to help out in the ways that they can.
"I hope it allows them to get ahead and make a difference," said Head Brewer Darren Braze. "Hopefully they can do a little more with the little bit that we can contribute."
