COLORADO SPRINGS – Election day saw voters across the country and county casting ballots and also saw local brew pubs helping out?
“Anything we can do to promote that, we will absolutely do,” commented Kristen Munoz of FH Beerworks.
But that’s the question, what have they been doing?
If you guessed offering up free beers for those who have voted, then you guessed right.
“I mean,” started Averee Davis, a manager at the Goat Patch Brewery, “I hope that free beer is not the driving factor behind everyone doing their civic duty but,” It certainly can’t hurt, right?
“It’s cool to see people go out and do their civic duty and then come in here and enjoy the rest of their night, after maybe doing something stressful,” commented TJ Huffmaster, a Goat Patch employee.
“I think Colorado and beer go together, and now voting and beer go together,” stated James Sandberg a local voter.
A sentiment these “beer-ristas” and brew-aficionados will be happy to hear.
“It’s not all fun and games a lot of the time,” continued Huffmaster, “so if we can do something to get people out there, to encourage them to go out there and then reward them in the process as they’re rewarding their community by voting, you might as well. Make it fun, why not?
Breweries and bars participating this year included FH Beerworks Downtown , FH Beerworks East, Goat Patch Brewing Company & Red Leg Brewing Company.
