EDGEWATER, Colo. — A retail store belonging to Duane “Dog the Bounty Hunter” Chapman was reportedly burglarized in Edgewater this week.
Edgewater police said they responded to the store on Sheridan Boulevard shortly after 1 a.m. Tuesday after receiving a report of damage to the store's front door. Officers weren't able to reach anyone associated with the store at the time.
A representative eventually called police on Thursday evening to report merchandise and other items missing from the store.
The store’s front door was still smashed and boarded up Friday morning.
In a news conference Friday, Chapman confirmed that some of the items stolen from the store included belongings of his wife, Beth, who died in June after a long battle with cancer.
"If you turn yourself in in the next 48 hours, I will not press charges," Chapman said, when asked if he had a message for the burglar. "But if you don't, there will be no mercy."
Chapman, though, known for tracking down fugitives on his reality TV show, said "I'm not going to do this myself" and said police were already working "some really good leads."
"The guy's got 48 hours to call me and ask for forgiveness," Chapman said. "And of course I'll do that."
Edgewater police released surveillance images of the suspect on Friday afternoon.
Duane Chapman tweeted about the incident Thursday night, saying there’s a cash reward for information on whoever is responsible for stealing his late wife’s belongings.

"The official Dog and Beth merchandise store was robbed on Thursday. Not only did the thieves take thousands of dollars of clothing, these criminals took priceless personal belongings of our beloved Beth, including tributes to her kindly left by our amazing fans. We are working with our friends in law enforcement to find these perpetrators, and are offering a cash reward to anyone who provides information about their identity. To who ever did this, you better watch out. Dog is coming for you."
