Topgolf will arrive in Colorado Springs this summer at the new Powers Boulevard and I-25 interchange, according to a press release.Topgolf will be at the Polaris Pointe complex near North Gate, taking over the venue originally planned to open as Crush Golf. The two-level entertainment spot will bring "74 climate-controlled outdoor hitting bays" and allow guests to enjoy it year-round.Gary Erickson, the Polaris Pointe developer and Colorado Springs native, told News5 in December 2019 that it's fun to contribute to growth in his hometown, which is much different from the city he grew up in.Erickson said it's about meeting the community where they are, especially with the new Powers Boulevard connection to I-25 coming down the road. Internal estimates suggest around 120,000 cars could travel that interchange every day, giving Polaris Pointe plenty of clientele."I-25 and Powers interchange will be our number 1 interchange in El Paso County, so this is where it needs to be," Erickson said.According to the release, this venue will bring more than 200 jobs to the area and will be one of three in Colorado with the existing ones in Centennial and Thornton.RELATED:North Gate projects bringing new entertainment to Colorado Springs_____KOAA News5 on your time, streaming on your Roku, FireTV, AppleTV and AndroidTV.News5 App | First Alert 5 Weather App | Youtube | Facebook | Instagram | Twitter
