PUEBLO — This week begins the annual, routine maintenance on the Arkansas Riverwalk in Pueblo.
The Riverwalk Channel is being drained in order to keep the area clean.
Operations Manager Daisy Jensen spoke with News 5 today about how the crew goes about cleaning the Riverwalk and explains the importance of this yearly maintenance.
"Draining the Riverwalk allows for our crews to remove the slit and other debris from the channel. This is very important for our water quality year-round {in order} to keep the channel the best it can be," said Jensen.
Depending on the weather, the Riverwalk should be filled again by the end of February.
