Springs Police arrest attempted murder/domestic violence suspect

COLORADO SPRINGS — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) has arrested a man who was wanted for three felonies.

On Saturday, March 7, a woman called 911 to report that she was just shot at near the intersection of Space Village Ave. and S. Marksheffel Rd. She then waved down a woman in a passing car who gave her a ride.

Police said that shortly after the woman got into the vehicle, a man in another vehicle pulled up next to them and fired several shots in their direction. Neither of the women were injured.

After a preliminary investigation, deputies and detectives were able to identify the suspect as 19-year-old Jamere Porter Williams.

CSPD said Williams was arrested on March 9 and booked into the El Paso County Jail.

Williams was arrested on the following charges:

  • First Degree Murder Attempted /Domestic Violence (DV), class 2 Felony
  • Menacing Felony Real/Simulated Weapon /DV, class 5 Felony
  • Criminal Mischief $1K to Less Than $5K / DV, class 6 Felony
