COLORADO SPRINGS — High school seniors across Colorado are graduating and heading onto their next chapter in their lives.
Even if COVID-19 didn't allow for traditional ceremonies, students from Cheyenne Mountain High School gathered for a social distant graduation on Friday.
It is a day they will never forget.
"Thank you to our parents, family friends and teachers and all of those who are with us virtual this morning and have stood by us and helped us to get here today," said Liam Hybl, a graduate from Cheyenne Mountain.
The ceremonies come after the state approved an El Paso County variance, allowing local school districts to have in-person graduations, with COVID-19 restrictions.
Students from Pueblo Centennial High School and Pueblo Central High School also celebrated with special ceremonies on Friday night.
