COLORADO SPRINGS — The El Paso County Sheriff's Office says a standoff on Noble Street began when deputies responded to a disturbance Wednesday night involving a suspect who had active warrants.
According to the Sheriff's Office, deputies were attempting to serve warrants to 32-year-old Kyle Miller for violent crimes at about 2:30 p.m.
Deputies said they were setting up a perimeter when they saw Miller come out of the back door of a home on the phone. Another deputy said they were on the phone with him.
Miller barricaded himself inside of a family member's home at about 2:30 p.m.
SWAT was called in and they arrived about two hours later. Tactical units used flash-bangs at one point during the standoff.
The suspect was finally taken into custody at around 9 p.m. on active warrants for third-degree assault, criminal mischief, and second-degree kidnapping with sexual assault or robbery.
The neighborhood is in Cimarron Hills and is located south of Omaha Boulevard and Peterson Road.
