COLORADO SPRINGS — Queen Palmer Elementary in District 11 has moved into remote learning after being notified of a positive COVID-19 case.

The district announced Sunday evening that "due to the number of individuals placed in quarantine," the school would be in remote learning until Oct. 20.

The district started welcoming back elementary and middle school students on Sept. 21 for in-person learning. The students started the school year on Aug. 24 in a hybrid-learning model.

Students will still be able to receive grab-and-go lunches from the school.

The district said teams will continue to clean and disinfect buildings on a regular basis and that people who were in close contact with the positive COVID-19 case have been instructed to quarantine for 14 days after exposure.
