PUEBLO — This week is National Police Week.
It's a time to remember officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.
Because of COVID-19, Pueblo Police couldn't have their in-person ceremony. They did have a virtual ceremony to honor the 13 officers who have died on duty.
"It is significant that these officers were serving the public when they were killed in the line of duty, so we want to remember that even if we have to do it on a virtual platform," Sgt. Franklyn Ortega said.
During the service a roll call for the fallen was given, "Taps" was performed, and messages from the Mayor and Police Chief were played.
