PUEBLO — The Pueblo Police department announced that they are expanding their bike patrol program.

Pueblo PD is able to make this change due to more resources of bikes, officers and volunteers to take care of the bikes.

The bike patrol is usually only used for special events, but now can expect to see them throughout the city.

"The bikes - they are kind of a little less obvious," explained Sgt. Franklyn Ortega from the Pueblo Police department. "Even though they are wearing the yellow jerseys, you would be surprised by how many people that are doing bad things and are surprised to see them."

There will be 20 members apart of this program and police say they will respond to call, if they are in the area.
