PUEBLO COUNTY — The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office (PCSO) has arrested two people in connection to the death of a 15-month-old child on September 18.

The child was in foster care at a Pueblo West home.

According to the PCSO, 36-year-old Ramondo Jones and 31-year-old Dacey Spinuzzi have been arrested for the death of the child. Jones was arrested for First-Degree Murder of a Child by One in a Position of Trust. Spinuzzi was arrested for Child Abuse Resulting in Death.

At the time of the child's death, he was a foster child in the care of Spinuzzi. Three other foster children and one biological child were living with Spinuzzi. The foster children were placed into protective custody and the biological child was placed with family.

The PCSO said deputies responded to a home in Pueblo West on September 16 on a report of an unresponsive child. He was taken to a local hospital before being flown to a facility in Colorado Springs. He would later die on September 18.

A medical examination and autopsy revealed the child died "from injuries sustained from child abuse." An investigation by the PCSO determined the injuries occurred while the child was in Spinuzzi's care. Spinuzzi and Jones had been in a relationship, the PCSO said.

The Sheriff's Office said the affidavits in this case have been sealed and no further details will be released at this time.
