PUEBLO — College students in Pueblo are now learning how to go green.
Pueblo Community College and Next Era Energy had a ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday for the school's news solar learning lab.
News 5 first brought you this story last year when the two groups partnered up. The project is now complete.
The purpose of the lab is to teach students the ins and outs of renewable energy and for them to possibly find a career in the field when they graduate.
"There is a lot of information, there is a lot different demonstrations, technology involved with that and then this on site project but more scaled down. It's pretty much what you see on a larger scale wind farm," said student, Brandon Vialpando.
Since solar cells are tied to some of the buildings on campus, the school is expecting to save a little on its power bill.
